Automated Stock Trading Internship Program

My favorite internship so far has involved the idea of automated stock trading. I chose this program because I knew it was going to challenge my computer science abilities and thankfully and painfully, it did. I faced a lot of challenges in the middle of making multiple algorithms to simulate trading using historical data. We were taught how to use an API, learn how the servers returned data. We were expected to use a “Winform” which I had never used before. I learned so much about it and got to play with a superb tool that can be used for so many more projects in the future. After we then play with the data and make the algorithms I wanted to try. I then transferred the data from the Winforms application into a data set that MATLAB can translate. I then used MATLAB to translate what the computer is doing and then show it graphically. I improved my skills in MATLAB by teaching myself how to graphically show different types of data and settled with a parallel plot chart. It is displayed at the bottom of our presentation (link below). Most of my work in the internship is under “SMA” and “results”.

I am so grateful for this opportunity because it gave me so many insights and tools in computer science that I did not have before. I hope to explore more about it in the future.
